The Conjurer's Almanaq Mid-September Update

Mid-September Update

As we write this, the bound final test copies of The Conjurer's Almanaq are in the hands of our last wave of test solvers. We are anxiously awaiting their feedback and comments. We have told them they can have unlimited hints.

The books weren't here long, but in the few hours we had them between the UPS delivery and when we handed them over to test solvers, we snapped the picture above.

Note that these test copies are black-and-white. For example, the handwritten text on the right-hand page is actually blue*. As we mentioned before, we have redacted some things both to get the books in our testers' hands sooner and to give them something to look forward to in the final book,

While there's still a lot to do to get the final book to the printers, getting to this milestone lets us see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Application to Join The Seven: For "Last Chance" backers, your invitations to join The Seven were sent out through a very manual process (BackerKit doesn't provide a way to do such things easily), and it appears we didn't email everybody. Sorry if we missed you! Of course, we want  everybody to have an equal chance of joining The Seven, so below are the appropriate links to the application form.

Download a PDF of the membership application form HERE

Download the membership application to solve in the Puzzazz app HERE
(requires iPad or iPhone with Puzzazz app installed)

Your chances of joining The Seven are the same whether you use paper or the app. Good luck!

For those who need some hints, our web site hint system does include both hints and answer verification for the Application. http://www.almanaq.com/hints. Using hints will not affect your chance of acceptance.

As always, thanks for your support!

* Trivia of the Day. Did you know that almost 5% of people are color blind? Making sure that every puzzle works well for color-blind people is just one of the many almost invisible details that has to get taken care of. If you're color blind, you've probably noticed that the cover above fails. Fortunately, it's just one of our test covers for the mass-market edition, and we use different colors each time so we can judge how they look. The Limited Edition book covers will be a glorious gold on black. Next update in two weeks.
