It's a Wrap!

With 99.7% of Almanaqs now confirmed as delivered (unfortunately, some got delayed), we hereby declare the book portion of the Kickstarter campaign a wrap!

This update contains information about:

  • Verifying answers
  • The accessories
  • Where your name can be found
  • The wooden puzzles

But, first ... a bit of love for The Librarian's Almanaq. While we've been super focused on The Conjurer's Almanaq, its predecessor is still a bestseller, available on Amazon and at your local bookstore (which may need to order it). And we've heard that there are a lot of gifts being exchanged this time of year. So we've come up with a special offer to give your giftee one of our handy dandy Librarian's Rulers. If you're giving (or get) a copy of The Librarian's Almanaq, check out the details on our web site.

Updates Going Forward. Our general updates are going to be less frequent now. The next will be in January when the black-and-white mass market edition of The Conjurer's Almanaq comes out, and when the remaining copies of the Limited Edition go on sale (you'll be the first to know).

After that, we have something else to announce which we've had a surprising number of people ask about (we're keeping coy about it for now).

Is X the answer to Y? We've been getting a lot of email asking for answer verification, so we have decided to put up an answer-only verification system for now — just verification, no hints. Enter something that you think is an answer and you will usually get one of two responses: "Correct" or "No information is available." You won't be told which puzzle your answer goes with and there is no partial confirmation available. For example, if an answer is "The Conjurer's Almanaq" you will not get any confirmation for just "Conjurer" or just "Almanaq". We've broken out The Morgue puzzles separately, and we're posting errata to the same location.

Do I need the accessory pieces to complete the book? When we found the original Conjurer's Almanaq in that old magic shop, it was just the book without the accessories, so nothing outside of the book itself is required to escape. Same goes for The History of the Seven, which was added by a stretch goal. However, everything does tie together thematically.

Can I still get the accessory bundle? Yes, you can still get it at the Kickstarter price from now through December 31st at http://www.almanaq.com/bundle. We have to charge shipping (which was included during the campaign, when ordered with a book), but we've dropped the bundle cost by $1 as a holiday bonus. After that, you'll have to wait until we get our web store going.

Where did you sign the book? If you pledged for a signed or personalized book, you'll find it on the dedication page (the page after the title page), in invisible ink. You'll need a UV light or blacklight to see it. If you don't have one, take the book with you next time you go to an escape room.

Where's my name in the book? If your pledge level included your name in the book, you'll have to search for it. Yes, that's a hint. We may release a "name finder" in the future.

What's the schedule on the wooden puzzle? We're hoping to get wooden prototype testing started by the end of the year (designs have been digital until now) and we'll be sending an update shortly to those who pledged for it.

Can I sell Almanaqs in my escape room? Yes! We sell copies for resale in quantities of 10 or more to escape rooms and other appropriate businesses, and it can be a nice addition if you sell other puzzling items to your customers. Join the Almanaq PR list to get information when it's available.

Last but not least, don't forget the Almanaq community forum on Reddit.

Happy Conjuring! *

* As 2018 draws to a close, we hope that The Conjurer's Almanaq can serve not just as a book to escape out of, but as a place to escape to. May all your holidays be wonderful and joyful! We'll see you in 2019.
