Conjuring For All

The black-and-white mass-market edition of The Conjurer's Almanaq is now available!

Get it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and here in Redmond at Brick and Mortar books. If your local bookstore doesn't carry it, they can order it with the ISBN*: 978-0996256810. (Note: when ordering online, don't buy from third-party sellers.**)

The black-and-white edition looks excellent. Not as spiffy as the Limited Edition — of course — but we optimized all the photographs and artwork to look great in black-and-white.

The puzzles are the same, but the mass market edition does not include the Limited Edition's accessories (the dust jacket/brochure, the end papers, the artifact, the map, The History of the Seven, and The Morgue). But — good news — these accessories, the brochure, the artifact, and The Morgue, can be purchased in ...

The Almanaq Online Store

Our online store is starting off simple, with just the accessories. We'll expand the store in about a week to add the leftover Limited Edition copies. We also have some leftover maps (including a few that aren't folded), and a few unfolded dust jackets that we will make available soon. Any unfolded items will ship rolled up.

Hints and Answers

Answers can be verified on our web site (and if you find one that can't be, please let us know). We're going to wait a bit longer before adding more. In the meantime, there is some solver-to-solver discussion going on in the Almanaq community forum on Reddit, which we encourage you to join. We will let you know when we add hints.

Do you run an escape room or other puzzle-related business?

If you're interested in wholesale purchases of either or both almanaqs for resale, join our Almanaq PR list as we'll be sending some information out shortly.

Happy Conjuring!

* You may have noticed that your Limited Edition copy does not have an ISBN on it. Not accidental. ISBNs are needed for any book that is distributed, but we are the only one selling the Limited Edition. We didn't want to ruin the nice all-black cover of the softcover or interfere with the art on the hardcover's dust jacket, not to mention the confusion if people started reviewing a book on produce! Also, since an ISBN is for an edition, not a book, the introduction of two more ISBNs could have meant split reviews on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, etc. This way, 978-0996256810 is the only ISBN for the book.

** Our first-ever second footnote! Woohoo! It seems there are a lot of disreputable third-party sellers who claim to sell copies of our books at a discount. But when you add in shipping and handling, it's actually more money than if you buy it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or your local bookstore. They don't actually stock the book — they buy a copy only after you order it, then ship it to you, so it also takes longer for you to get it. And we receive the least amount of money for such a sale, so it's bad all around. We recommend you stick with the sites themselves or your local bookstore.
