One-of-a-Kind Items Sold to Benefit Charity

We've decided to sell a number of one-of-a-kind items in the Almanaq Store to benefit Hopelink, a local nonprofit organization working to end poverty in the Seattle area by providing a network of critical social services, including housing, transportation, family development, financial assistance, employment programs, adult education, financial literacy training and five food banks.

The items we're talking about are the Spell Scrolls from the Spells chapter and the Wooden Alchemy Medallions from the Alchemy chapter (scroll to the bottom of the store listing to find them). These are the actual items from the book, so there is exactly one of each in the entire known universe. We're selling them for $100 each, and ALL of the money will go to Hopelink. Shipping's on us, and we'll even absorb the credit card fee. If you put any limited item in your cart and start the checkout process, it will grab it from the inventory and give you five minutes to finish checking out.

Are these special items worth the $100? Of course not! These are priceless artifacts from the secretive conjuring world, whose value cannot be measured in dollars alone. More seriously, it's hard to measure the difference that organizations like Hopelink make in dollars alone. We were thinking about the good this can do and we chose an amount that we knew would be significant. Please help us write a big check this winter!

If you don't want one of these items but you still want to make a difference, click here to donate to Hopelink, or click here to find a food bank near you. Thank you!

The Symbol Stones?

You might be wondering about the Symbol Stones from the Symbology chapter. Why aren't we selling them too? Well, it was a shock to us to when we discovered they were gone, scattered to the four corners of the Earth. It turned out the clues were right in front of us the whole time!*

If you happen to come across one of the symbol stones, and we know a few people have already, take great care with it. As discussed on page 15 of The Conjurer's Almanaq, you might want to take a selfie with it and post it on social media with hashtag #almanaq so you'll always be able to draw on its power. Just make sure you leave the stone where it is when you're done!**

Great Gifts and Last Minute Reminders

Yeah, we're biased, but we do think the Almanaqs make great holiday gifts. The deadlines we set for holiday shipping (see here) are passing by as we write this. But, between now and the end of the year, we'll continue to ship same day for orders received before noon (and later in the day, when possible). USPS says Priority Mail shipments sent by Saturday will get delivered by the 24th. We are a tad skeptical, especially for those on the East coast.

If you're thinking of ordering the clock from Zazzle, there are two promo codes that might be useful. We don't know if these can be combined or exactly how they work. The promo code 50OFFTOPSALE gets you 20% off clocks (today only, but there's probably another promo tomorrow); this code also gets you up to 50% off on other items. The code 25OFFZIPZAZZ gets you 25% of expedited "Zip" or "Zip Plus" shipping (enter in cart after choosing shipping option, good through Friday). Zazzle has promo codes available regularly; check https://www.zazzle.com/coupons. Also, not that we want to discourage you from buying this cool clock, but we will be adding a bunch of Conjurer's specific products, including additional clocks, in the new year. We put this clock up first to give everybody a fun puzzle to solve and work out any kinks in the system.

Thanks for all your support!

Roy and Emily

* And where are those clues, you might ask? There are hints to the hints. Some are right in front of you, if you know where and how to look; others might require working with other would-be conjurers.

** Yeah, we mean it. If you are lucky enough to find a stone, please don't ruin it for others.
